Olive ash and pink ivory turning sloyd

Olive ash and pink ivory turning sloyd

£85.00Price

A sweet detail woodcarving knife with an olive ash, pink ivory and buckeye burl bolster. The handle has a handcarved finish, with facets near the blade to aid in grip.

The 60mm blade is forged by Nic Westermann, and ground by Dave Cockroft who I think puts a lovely spin on the design of a micro blade. The small turning radius would work well for spoon transitions and all other detail carving. I find it wonderful for getting into tight curves and chamfering facets.

The handle was finished with Peacock Oil, a unique blend of the world's finest traditional oils, resins and waxes that together produce a breathable, water-repellent, figure enhancing and grain strengthening finish.
